Roldy Aguero Ablao is a Seattle-based visual artist and educator whose work is inspired by the land and natural surroundings, in particular the experience of growing up on the tropical island of Guam and now, as part of the Pacific Islands diaspora, removed from the land of his ancestors. He is a strong advocate of art as a way to educate and engage people, and works as an Education Specialist for the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle. In a devotional gesture of remembrance and protection, Roldy delicately ornamented a grove of trees along the river, tending and adding to the fragile installation throughout the exhibition.
