Location: Terminal 107 Park
Briar Bates is a Seattle-based artist and landscape designer who creates ambitious, ornate sculptural installations out of living materials. For Duwamish Revealed, she built a container ship from living plants (native and non-invasive willow, dogwood, and other annuals) as sculpture and environmental restoration. It remains up in its location at Terminal 107 Park along West Marginal Way and will continue to grow.
Thanks to the Port of Seattle for adopting this living piece of artwork!
